Watching Yachts in the Harbor

The Kate Stoltz Ruched Lace Dress
I love walking past a harbor with a carefully docked row of multi million dollar yachts. I might never own a yacht myself, but it doesn’t matter to me. The nautical scene reminds me that I’m close to the sea, and far away from work. I’m far away from my computer, pattern making table or sewing machine.

On a recent dinner outing close to the dock, I wore the Kate Stoltz Ruched Black Lace Dress. The dress is a delicate French lace dress and crinkled silk chiffon piece. While the dress is certainly ideal for more dressed up occasions, the cut makes the dress a little more wearable. The skirt on the dress skims the ankle, finished with a wide hem of lace. The outer skirt floats above a ruched underskirt of tulle that adds volume to what would otherwise be a flatter skirt.

  1. What an exquisite dress, Kate. I know we will never know each other, despite being from the same state, but after your start on a TLC tv program, I just have to tell you how very proud I am of what you have accomplished. Your designs are so lovely, and classic, and I am truly proud of the success you have reached. Best of everything in all your future ventures! The photos near the water are wonderful and much appreciated as I have always loved the sea, and hydrangeas.

    1. Thank you! I always feel honored when people tell me they followed my journey since the beginning of the show… I enjoy designing women’s wear and can only hope I can continue doing it in a way that remains interesting to you and everyone else that has supported me along the way.

It would be hard not to get a great picture of the sea- nature is so beautiful by itself!
